2. Obecný koncept doktorské zkoušky ze Starého zákona

OBECNÝ KONCEPT DOKTORSKÉ ZKOUŠKY ČI STÁTNÍ DOKTORSKÉ ZKOUŠKY Z DISCIPLÍNY STARÉHO ZÁKONA

Státní doktorská zkouška (ve smyslu § 47, odst. 4 zákona 111/1998 o vysokých školách) i dílčí zkouška z disciplíny Starého zákona probíhají dle stejného konceptu.

Tvoří ji obvykle tři součásti (viz níže: A. – B. – C.).

Před skládáním zkoušky se obvykle vyžaduje alespoň semestrální účast na semináři doktorandů.

Doktorand nejpozději týden před termínem zkoušky zasílá písemné přípravy k části A. (pracovní překlad textů, výkladové poznámky se sumářem, seznam užité literatury) a seznam užité literatury k částem B. a C.

A. exegeze textu:

Exegeze dvou nesouvisejících a žánrově odlišných oddílů dle vlastní volby (celkem zhruba 40 veršů).

Požadavky srovnatelné s exegezí pro státní závěrečnou zkoušku magisterského studia (viz web-stránka katedry Starého zákona); nad rámec požadavků k mgr. zkoušce se sleduje a oceňuje zejména přehled o dějinách bádání, znalost alternativních hypotéz a hlavních variant vykladačských a interpretačních pojetí.

B. souborná teologie SZ:

Nastudování jedné ze souborných ThSZ (případně „Biblické teologie") z doby po roce 1980; její kritická charakteristika a zařazení do kontextu (tj. do současného diskursu disciplíny ThSZ, resp. biblické teologie a hermeneutiky, jeho trendů a zastávaných pozic).

C. jednotlivé tématické okruhy:

1. „Teologie" (v užším slova smyslu; de Deo) Tenaku – specifické rysy, svébytnost (případně kontrastně oproti křesťanské teologické tradici).

2. „Antropologie" Tenaku (idem).

3. „Eklesiologie" Tenaku – ruzná pojetí „Izraele", „lidu Hospodinova" atd., vnitřní diferenciace a vnější vymezení.

4. Vztah „víry v boha Spasitele" a „víry v boha Stvořitele" v Tenaku a ruzné způsoby zpracování tohoto vztahu zhruba od poloviny 20. století.

Literaturu si zkoušený volí dle vlastního uvážení (její volba spadá do hodnocených aspektů).

3. General Concept for Doctoral Examinations and State Doctoral Examinations in the Discipline of Old Testament Studies

GENERAL CONCEPT FOR DOCTORAL EXAMINATIONS AND STATE DOCTORAL EXAMINATIONS IN THE DISCIPLINE OF OLD TESTAMENT STUDIES

State Doctoral Examinations (in the sense defined by § 47, para. 4 of Law no. 111/1998 on institutes of higher education) and Intermediate Examinations in the discipline of Old Testament Studies are organised according to the same concept. They normally consist of three parts (see below: A – B – C).

Before taking an examination, candidates are normally required to have taken part in a seminar for doctoral students in OT/HB Studies for a period of at least one semester.

In addition to preparing for the exegesis (see part A), candidates must also submit a list of the literature they have studied (see parts B and C) at least two days before the start of the examination.

A. Textual exegesis

Exegesis of two unconnected passages of different genres chosen by the candidate (totalling about 40 verses).

Preparation for the exegesis includes these basic elements:

• a working translation made by the candidate (if appropriate with variant translations and notes on the text);

• an assessment of the variants and versions of the text and of translations of the text made in Antiquity (textual criticism);

• a linguistic analysis of the text (lexicon, grammar, phraseology, syntax, text syntax);

• taking account of the literary form and type (genre), and where necessary its context (Sitz im Leben);

• placing the text in its historical context (question of dating, historical background);

• an assessment of the history of tradition (if the text is capable of diachronic analysis);

• a detailed explanation of the terminology and phraseology (taking into account the specific function in the given context; intertextuality and other connections);

• an analysis and interpretation of different aspects of the content (factualism, semantics);

• taking account of the rhetorical mode and any changes in it, and the pragmatic function of the text;

• the significance of the broader literary and canonical context (the function of pericopes within a broader literary framework, e.g. narrative cycle or composition of discourse; Sitz in der Literatur);

• a critical evaluation of the secondary literature (studies, commentaries); a knowledge of the alternative hypotheses and the main variants of interpretational approaches;

• at least a basic knowledge of and orientation in the history of the research;

• formulation by the candidate of the theologically important motifs and aspects (message, relevance for today).

B. Comprehensive theology of the Old Testament

Studying one of the comprehensive theologies of the Old Testament (or “biblical theologies”) from the period after 1990; its critical characteristics and placing it in context (i.e. in the current discourse of the discipline of the theology of the Old Testament, or of biblical theology and hermeneutics, its trends and the positions it adopts).

C. Individual thematic areas

1. The theology (in the narrow sense of the word; de Deo) of the Tanakh – specific features, originality, (dis)continuity with ANE traditions, impact on the Christian theological tradition.

2. The anthropology of the Tanakh (idem).

3. The ecclesiology of the Tanakh – various concepts of “Israel”, “the people of the Lord”, “Israel & Judah” entities etc., internal differentiation and external delimitation of the particular concepts.

4. The relationship between “faith in God the Saviour” and “faith in God the Creator” in the Tanakh and the various ways in which this relationship is dealt with from around the mid-20th century.

5. The issue of universalism and particularism in the biblical message and its role in biblical theology (themes of being chosen, being sent, etc.).

6. Modified individually according to the specialisation of the research project.

7. Modified individually according to the specialisation of the research project.

Candidates choose the literature themselves. (It should be chosen so that it relates to the evaluated aspects.)

Translation, notes and summary of the exegesis (to A.) and bibliography (to B. abd C.) should be sent to the examinator at least 1 week before the exam.
