            The Old Testament Department is engaged in biblical studies focused on the Old Testament p
            (the so-called Hebrew Bible) in its historical and literary context. It covers a wide rang

            from the philology and linguistics of ancient Hebrew, Aramaic and other languages, through
            archeology and the history of ancient Israel and Judea, surrounding cultures and civilizat

            cultural heritage, to detailed Bible study as a unique library of the testimony of the "pe
            Lord" and after methodological questions of understanding these texts and the issue of the
            interpretation or interpretation.

            The staff of the department also participates in the activities of the Centre for Biblical
