Abstrakt: "In this study we will look more closely at how medieval Christian traditions influ-ence modern notions of statehood and national identity, as well as the patterns of interaction between sacred and secular elements throughout history in society. In order to do this, two specific Christian traditions from two different geographical and cultural areas will be discussed. The first tradition developed in Bohemia around the cult of the medieval ruler, St. Wenceslas/Václav (907–929/935), the second in medieval Serbia around the cult of the monk and archbishop, St. Sava (1175–1235/1236)."
