We have a collection of approx. 140 000 volumes in many different languages, as well as over 200 titles of Czech and foreign language journals.
Most of the literature is focused on Theology, Philosophy, and Religious Studies, but we also have a general section where you can find literature on subjects such as Psychology, Sociology, ...
Most of our collection is freely accessible and the books are sorted thematically according to various fields of study. So, for example, there is a Philosophy section, Religious Studies section, Church History section, etc.
We have a fine old and rare book collection. The oldest printed book in the library is a 1506 edition of the Venetian Bible (the first Bible in the Czech language to be printed outside of Bohemia). Our most precious book is a manuscript of miscellaneus texts by the Bohemian Brethren dating to the second half of the 16th century. The oldest volume of a work by Martin Luther is „Wider das Bapstum zu Rom von Teuffel gestifft“ printed in Wittemberg in 1545.
The periodicals collection consists of 200 Czech as well as foreign journals. A number of them is also available in an electronic version.
The library keeps a collection of theses of all the Protestants´s faculty´s graduates. Theses are digitalised - prior the year 2006 selectively but after that year all of the theses are available as electronic documents.
