Are you in the right place?
If you are fascinated by the big questions...
If you want to understand how religion has shaped the world...
If you are on a journey to understand what God really means...
Then you are in the right place! The place where faith meets reason, where you can explore the questions that shape humanity. Take the next steps with us!
This three-year bachelor’s programme will guide you through many of your questions, will hone the academic skills you need to find answers, and provide life-changing experiences in the heart of Europe.
In this program, you will not only learn about the history of religion but also live in one of the key locations that shaped the religious history of Europe. Prague boasts hundreds of beautifully preserved churches and is the hometown of Jan Hus, the grandfather of Protestantism.
As part of this programme, you will learn to interpret key texts in the original Hebrew and Greek and go straight to the source of their meaning.
We are eager to share our knowledge in the foundational theological fields, including Biblical studies, Christian traditions, world religions, philosophical thought, ethics, and ecumenical issues.
We base our work on a prestige study in small learning circles with a family-like collective. That means plenty of opportunities for discussion, as well as individual questions and answers.
Our facilities are located right in the centre of Prague, including one of the best theological libraries in Central Europe. Our students have the opportunity to participate in various international projects, including partnership visits to universities abroad and archaeological excavations at historical sites.
We offer an education that you can afford. Tuition for the Bachelor’s of Protestant Theology is only about 1,000 Euros per year, and international students spend about 7,000 Euros per year for all other living costs (university accommodation is guaranteed). You don't need to be concerned; we will fully assist you with your admission.
Not only is Charles University one of the first universities ever established in Europe (in 1348), but today it is the largest and highest-ranked university among the 24 countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
Prague is regularly listed among the most beautiful, safest, greenest, and most vibrant cities in the world. Campus Advisor recently listed Prague as the best city in Europe for international students. Thanks to the city‘s great location, dense railway network, and affordable public transportation, you can easily set off from Prague to explore other places in the Czech Republic and Europe!
This program will prepare you for a range of future careers, including further academic research and post-bachelor's studies in the corresponding fields, as well as religious service, educational, cultural, and social work, among other fields, where a humanities education is a valuable asset.
