This option is for those who have not yet studied theology at university level. It is open both to those who intend to enter church ministry and to other candidates. It is the standard programme followed by our Czech students, and provides a basic grounding in the classical theological disciplines: biblical studies, systematic and practical theology, church history, ethics, philosophy, the comparative study of religions, and the biblical languages. The requirements include fluency in Czech and a secondary school leaving examination (e.g. baccalauréat, A levels, Abitur, high school diploma). Those successfully completing the programme will be awarded a Bachelor's degree by Charles University. In order to be considered for the ministry by the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren, graduates need to continue studying and obtain a Master's degree.
