COURSE REGISTRATION

The online course registration takes place in the Student Information System (SIS) in the module "Students registration into subjects". When registering for courses, make sure you have the correct academic year set up:

Below you can find the links to the faculties' websites where you can find the relevant information on their course offer and/or rules of course registration. Should you find any information missing or have any questions, we recommend you contact the Erasmus+ coordinator of the relevant faculty.

As per the CU rules, at least 51 % of your courses must be enrolled under your host faculty (CU Protestant Theological Faculty). The remaining 49 % of courses can be from other CU faculties. Keep in mind that Charles University is decentralised and each CU faculty may have a different system in place, including different availability of courses for incoming students, and a different set of conditions and rules for course registration (including the add&drop period).

Note for Erasmus+ students:

You always have only one Learning Agreement, all the courses you take at CU are noted there regardless of the CU faculty. Your LA changes are processed at your hosting faculty - you must follow the steps and rules sent to you by Věra Fritzová, the Erasmus+ coordinator at the CU Protestant Theological Faculty . 

The number of credits allocated to each course is based on an expectation of an average of 60 credits per year or 30 credits per semester. The system of allocated credits corresponds to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS)..

Based on the requirements of your home university. If you don't know, please check with your home university.

As for the CU Protestant Theological Faculty, the allowed ECTS limits are the following:

• minimum of 20 ECTS for bachelor students per semester,

• minimum of 15 ECTS for master students per semester,

Erasmus+ students: We are happy to sign a revised Learning Agreement (so-called LA changes) for you, though please remember you must also talk to your home university to make sure they agree with any changes you make.

Changing your course selection is not a major problem as long as you meet the deadlines.

After the course registration deadline has passed, you must resolve this issue directly with the coordinators at the Protestant Theological Faculty.

Sports courses are provided by the CU Faculty of Arts, namely by their Department of Physical Education. The courses can be found in SIS by using filters faculty and department. Most of the courses are in Czech; however, it is usually not a problem. You can contact the teacher of the course to double-check whether exchange students can enrol in their course. You can also apply the language filter and select English to browse the English-taught sports courses. The main Charles University Sports Centre can be found in Hostivař. 

IMPORTANT for Erasmus+ students: The sports course must be noted in your Learning Agreement, and thus be approved by your home university. 

Exchange students can enrol in both bachelor's and master's courses regardless of their academic level.

However, the list of the chosen subjects has to be selected carefully and approved by the student’s home university.

We strongly recommend reading the requirements of the course to be able to successfully finish the selected class. You will have enough time during the registration period (the so-called add/drop period) to decide whether you like the class and whether you will be able to manage it.

Please note that due to capacity reasons, master students may be given priority in the course registration.

Exchange students are not required to meet course prerequisites. If a course in the system lists a prerequisite, you can simply disregard it — you don't need to have completed it to enroll.
