Novodobé české překlady a textová kritika knih Samuelových

Author:

Lýdie Kucová

Abstract:

RECENT CZECH BIBLE TRANSLATIONS AND TEXTUAL CRITICISM OF THE BOOKS OF SAMUEL

The article reviews recent Czech Bible translations, all published in 2009 (Czech Study Translation; Translation for the 21st Century and Jerusalem Bible), in the light of textual criticism of the Bible. A biblical sample for this study, which also includes comparison with the older Czech Ecumenical Translation of the Bible (1979) and modern Bible translations into some other languages (English, German and Slovak), is taken from the first fifteen chapters of the first book of Samuel. The study demonstrates that markedly different approaches to the text of the Bible appear among the new Czech Bible translations, from the ones strictly adhering to the Masoretic text (thus Czech Study Translation) to those that include a number of ancient variants where the Masoretic reading appears to show traces of secondary development (thus Translation for the 21st Century and Jerusalem Bible). The investigation underlines that the results of modern text-critical studies will remain relevant for any future translations or revisions of current translations of the richly diverse biblical text in the books of Samuel.

Burton L. Mack a kynická hypotéza

Author:

Martin Dostál

Abstract:

BURTON L. MACK AND THE CYNIC HYPOTHESIS

Study deals with the Cynic hypothesis proposed by Burton L. Mack in “The Christian Origins Project” which calls for redescription of the early Christianity. The Cynic hypothesis helps to describe the earliest stage of history of Christianity and also to express the novelty of his approach. The Cynic hypothesis is elucidated in the context of “new hermeneutic” of the Project, that contains a heavy critique of a concept of Christian origins in New Testament studies, mainly those of the “third quest of the historical Jesus.” Comparing of Cynic and Christian data that makes the base for the Hypothesis is presented in the context of the third quest, its emphasis on the study of social setting of the early Christianity and also its call for a non-eschatological Jesus. Some evaluative comments are made in the concluding part and to some extent the development of the research of the Project is mentioned as well.

Abstract:

Author:

Tomáš Živný

Abstract:

GOD INSTEAD OF FATHER

This study can be considered within the field of Practical theology, since it is dealing with supposition (in the sense of Latin suppositio) of the term Father with the term God in the official prayers of the Christian churches that have the trinitary structure. In the article the conclusion is achieved that the problem is not a theological issued (monarchianism, subordinationism), but a language issue. As an aside, it is explained in what way the term supposition is applied when speaking about the Trinity. It can be therefore argued that this specific supposition (nonetheless, not only this one) is inherent in the Christian language from the very beginning. It is operative in old Christian confessions, as well in the New Testament. The author then pays special attention to the latter case, the usage of the supposition in the New Testament. It is proved in this study that supposition of the term Father with the term God is an orthodox event.

Lutherova kázání na žalmy

Author:

Martin Horák

Abstract:

PSALMENPREDIGTEN LUTHERS
