The Department of Systematic Theology wants to contribute to the fulfillment of the common task of systematic theology: thinking and passing on the Christian faith to future generations. It does so in an area that once underwent an early reformation, then a successful counter-reformation and, more recently, real socialism; in a secularized country, where Christians today are a minority and churches are on the margins of society.
