Abstract:

DANCING WISDOM

Proverbs 8,22-31 form an integral part of the didactic poem in Prov 8-9, This passage includes a cosmogonic myth in which the poet increases, in comparison with the other Old Testament’s and extrabiblical mythic traditions, the reflection of the commencements and enriches it by speaking about the personificated preexistent Wisdom, Yahweh ‘created’ her (q-n-h in v. 22a) throughout the ‘tipping out’ (n-s-k I in v. 23a). This act could evoke either an archaic picture of artistry (metal-moulding) or more likely a Hellenic concept of divine emanation. Hokhma as a forming principle of the world chronologicaly precedes the chaos itself. The image of this chaos in Prov 8,22-31 as well as in the other religious cultures (Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Ugaritic and Greek) is articulated using the ambivalent aquatic symbolism. From the stylistic point of view, the poem resembles some parts of other important literary documents of Ancient Near East (Gen 2,4b-7; Hymn of Ptah 1.1-7; The Creation of the world by Marduk 1,1-18; Enuma Elish 1,1-9). But among them, it’s impossible to detect the development analogous to the scheme of creation in Prov 8,22-31: Yahweh - Wisdom - chaos - world. The conceptual model used by the author is not creationist but theomachist (vv. 27-30a) as well as in the other passages of Ketubim. Hokhma takes part in Yahwe's battle with the chaos, although only in the passive way. Her participation is active uniquely before and after the creative work, i.e. at the moment when she rejoices resting ‘Builder of Earth’ by her dance (v. 24s and v. 30s). Her dance becomes, in the view of the sapiential literature, the metaphor of the joyful adoration.

Abstract:

THE PHILOSOPHICAL PROBLEM OF CONCEPTUAL NON-OBJECTIVITY AND ITS POSSIBLE THEOLOGICAL CONSEQUENCES

Critical analysis of the traditional (originally Greek) conceptuality shows its limits, important especially for philosophy and theology. The main problem consists in the usual connection between concepts and respective ‘intentional objects', i.e. intellectual constructions (models). Theologians have good reasons for being interested in philosophers trying to save conceptuality, but to orient their thoughts to ‘intentional non-objects’ as well as to ‘non-objective’ aspects of actual beings.

Abstract:

ICH BEKENNE EINE EINIGE TAUFE ZUR VERGEBUNG DER SÜNDEN

Veranlaßt durch die neueste Taufdebatte in der EKBB bietet der Prager Systematiker (1958), der sich als lutherischer Barthianer versteht, eine komprimierte Tauf lehre an. Im Unterschied zu seinen barthianischen Lehrern ist er der Meinung, daß

das nachkonstantinische Zeitalter in Tschechien noch nicht angekommen ist. Des wegen bezieht er die KD lV/4-Taufkritik auf evangelische Kirche der Gegenwart. Er selber sieht in der Kindertaufe die uneigentliche und abgeleitete Form der christlichen Taufe, die nur bei der praktizierten Taufdisziplin relativ verantwortbar ist. Die prinzipielle Annahme der Möglichkeit der Kindertaufe hält er für das Erkenntniszeichen der Reformationskirchen. Dogmatische Kindertaufverweigerer weist er in die Baptisten- Gemeinden ein; bei Wiedertäufern befürchtet er spätere Wiederholung ihrer Erwachsenentaufe.
