Confessing Jesus Christ in Context The article formed originally one chapter of the second edition of Faith Seeking Understanding, the author’s popular introduction to Christian theology. It reviews the unique contributions to Christology made by recent theologians working in the Latin American, African American, Asian American, Hispanic, feminist, womanist, and mujerista traditions. It explores their strengths and weaknesses as well as their relationship to the classic creeds of Christendom and concludes that the local and the global contributions to theology need to be in mutually enriching dialogue. |

The Image of God and its Meaning in Theological Anthropology The article focuses on the doctrine of the image of God (imago Dei) that is crucial for our understanding of who we are as the creation of God and which serves as a foundation for theological anthropolo-gy. Specifically, it examines and critically analyses three different approaches to human identity – structural, functional, and relational approach – which have long been used in theology. In the final paragraph, the paper introduces the holistic view of the image of God as a balanced theological perspective that can be effectively used in the postmodern discourse concerning fragmented and decentered human identity. |

Doctrine of Prosperity in the Theology of Word-Faith Movement This analysis studies basic aspects of the Theology of Prosperity. Its doctrine of material wealth is considered to be one of the sources of inspiration for a teaching which later on came to be known as the Word-Faith Movement. The analysis addresses the issue of wealth as a universally valid law and at the same time the consequence of Christ's reconciliation work. The works of K. Hagin, K. Copeland and J. Avanzini represent the main source of material, as they all are considered as the most influential representatives of this movement. |

The Ecological Spirituality: The Quest for God Through Relating to Earth and Body Ecology has been massively discussed in the last one hundred years and the debate has been impacting science and humanities, including theology. The world is finding a way back to itself while new spirituality is emerging. What is spiritual about ecology? The holistic approach to spirituality integrates the entire spectrum of life. Spirituality is now seen as working towards an integration of prayer and action. Ecospirituality unfolds this approach by rethinking the relation to the creation. Jay B. McDaniel develops the topic and opens with a provocative thesis: everyday profane activities are in fact deeply spir-itual. Sallie McFague follows him and proposes the metaphor Body of God which offers a way to relate to God through relating to body and the physical. This article introduces main thoughts on ecological spirituality and offers a comparison of traditional spiritual and ecospiritual typology, along with the new outcome that it brings. |

Christians and Muslims The open letter of Muslim scholars and religious leaders of 2007 entitled “A Common Word between Us and You” and addressed to Christian scholars and church leaders provides promising openings for dialogue between Christians and Mus-lims. In a section of the third edition of his book Faith Seeking Understanding Daniel Migliore is going over several important theological items identifiable in the open letter that have to be discussed and clarified before the dialogue can successfully proceed. |
