Abstrakt:

HARTSHORNE AND BARTH

The process philosopher Charles Hartshorne sought to conceive metaphysics that would be usable for religious thought and theology. He was aware of the distinction between the God of philosophy and the God of faith but did not think the two were incompatible. He became critically interested in the work of the theologian Karl Barth and followed it throughout his career. He was especially inspired by Barth’s exposition of the ontological argument of Anselm of Canterbury and believed Barth has discovered something that many other thinkers have missed and that process metaphysics may use to improve Anselm’s argument.

Abstrakt:

THEOLOGIE UND GLAUBEN

Wie verhält sich die Theologie zum Glauben? Um auf diese Frage antworten zu können, werden drei Ebenen unterschieden: 1. Die Ebene der Glaubenspraxis, in der sich der Glaube selbst äußert und handelt. 2. Die Ebene der kirchlichen Theologie, welche die Glaubenspraxis direkt reflektiert und von gläubigen Theologen vertreten wird. 3. Die Ebene der akademischen Theologie, die zur Glaubenspraxis im größeren Abstand steht und die christliche Perspektive im Hause der Universität repräsentiert. Als solche kann sie auch von Nichtgläubigen verstanden, studiert und auch doziert werden. Diese Unterscheidung gibt der Theologie in ihren konkreten Ausprägungen unterschiedliche Referenzfelder und unterschiedliche Aufgaben und gewährleistet ihr eine große Breite und Mannigfaltigkeit ihrer Arbeit. Es soll nämlich nicht nur im Glauben, es soll auch vom Glauben und über den Glauben geredet werden. Nur so kann die Theologie voll, zugänglich und interessant getrieben werden. Das ist heute nicht nur ihre Aufgabe, sondern auch ihre große Chance.

Abstrakt:

PARABLE OF THE PEARL INTERPRETED IN THE GOSPEL OF THOMAS

Parable of Pearl (logion 76) is one of the eight Kingdom parables in the Coptic Gospel of Thomas. This article deals with its synchronic interpretation. This means that the parable is interpreted only in the literary and theological context of the Gospel of Thomas without its relations to possible parallels in other writings of the early Christian or Gnostic literature. Logion 76 can be divided into two parts: part A (GThom 76,1–2) contains the very parable and part B (GThom 76,3) contains an appeal to seek the imperishable treasure. Parable of Pearl in our interpretation is related to other parables in GThom, namely to the parables of Wise Fisherman (GThom 8), Shepherd and Lost Sheep (GThom 107) and Treasure in the Field (GThom 109). All these parables in some manner contain the theme of seeking and/or finding which in the Gospel of Thomas is substantially connected with the salvation and life (GThom 1; 2; 18). The pearl in the parable is the treasure which is identified with the Kingdom as it is understood in the Gospel of Thomas. A reader of this Gospel is encouraged to seek this imperishable treasure and to act wisely when he/she finds it, i.e. to give all his/her property in order to gain this Kingdom.

Abstrakt:

THEOLOGY AND ETHICS IN THE APODICTIC LAW

This article reacts on the study of Pavel Keřkovský (Etická reflexe paralelismu a apodiktické právo, Teologická reflexe XVII(2), 2011, pp. 177–203). Keřkovský’s thesis, that the apodictic law in the Bible serves as a tool of theological and ethical reflection is (contrary to Keřkovský) also applied to the genre of the casuistic law, with reference to recent literary approaches to the study of biblical law. Theological and ethical dimension of casuistic texts is illustrated on two passages: Ex 22,22–26 and Dt 25,5–10.

DOGMATIK IM KONTEXT DER WELTRELIGIONEN – ZUR DOGMATIK VON HANS-MARTIN BARTH

Der Artikel beschäftigt sich mit dem Lehrbuch „Dogmatik. Evangelischer Glaube im Kontext der Weltreligionen“ von marburger Emeritus H.-M. Barth. Der versucht in seinem umfassenden Werk den lutherisch orientierten und den ökumenischen Impulsen aufgeschlossenen christlichen Glauben im Kontext der Weltreligionen (Judentum, Islam, Hinduistische Traditionen, Buddhismus) systematisch darzustellen, dabei handelt sich um den weltweit ersten Versuch solcher dogmatischen Gesamtdarstellung. Erstens ist in der biographischen Skizze der im tschechischen evangelisch-theologischen Kontext wenig bekannte Autor vorgestellt. Dann wird seine Dogmatik beschrieben: deren grobe Struktur, Aufbau, Ziel und Methode. Im Folgenden wird deren theologischer, ander Trinitätstheologie orientierter Ansatz dargestellt mit einer besonderen Hinsicht dazu, wie Barth theologisch das Bedürfnis und die Möglichkeit systematisch-theologischer Reflexion der außerchristlichen Religionen begründet. Zum Schluss wird in einem Ausblick darüber nachgedacht, inwiefern sich die Berücksichtigung von den ausserchristlichen Religionen im systematisch-theologischen Denken der tschechischen evangelischen Kirche fruchtbar machen lässt.

Abstrakt:

“NEW ATHEISM” IN CZECH REPUBLIC?

Radim Brázda’s book Ethicum provides a short introduction to philosophical ethics for university students. This study

focuses mainly on the similarities between the ethical concept as presented in Ethicum, and the views of the movement called “New Atheism”, especially the ideas of its probably the most famous representative, Richard Dawkins. “New Atheists” views such as scientism, the attempt to prove that religious ethics is unscientific (i. e. irrational) and therefore potentially dangerous, which Brázda to a great extent uncritically accepts, make (according to the author of this review) Ethicum a highly problematic introduction to ethics.
