PROS AND CONS OF POLITICAL DIVISION OF LEBANESE CHRISTIANS

The article describes the decrease in political power of the Christian community after the end of the Civil war (1990) and the growth in power after the withdrawal of Syria from Lebanon in 2005. The political split of Christians along the Sunnites’ (March 14) and Shiites’ (March 8) political lines is seen as a rather pragmatic tactic. However, using different ways, Christian politicians try to reach a common Christian goal consisting in securing politically pronounced influence as well as economical and cultural liberties.

DIE PSEUDOKLEMENTINEN UND IHR ZEUGNIS ÜBER DAS JUDENCHRISTENTUM

Der Aufsatz will vor allem die in Tschechien wenig bekannten altchristlichen Schriften „Homilien“ und „Rekognitionen“ vorstellen. Und zwar mit Bewusstsein einer in mehreren Ländern neu erwachten Interesse für diesen Forschungsgegenstand. Neben einigen Grundinformationen wird der Inhalt als ein theologisch-philosophischer Erbauungsroman dargestellt, der auf der Geschichte von Clemens von Rom die integrative Stärke des christlichen Glaubens demonstriert und seine Überlegenheit dem Heidentum sowie der simonistischen Häresie gegenüber aufweist. Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt liegt in der eigentümlichen Christologie, die Christus als einen Propheten mit einigen soterologischen Zügen heraushebt. Das ist ein wesentliches Element dieser jüdenchrischtlichen Schriften und dementsprechend wird darauf hingewiesen, dass das Studium des Judenchristentums einerseits und der Pseudoklementinen andererseits eine gegenseitige Aufgewiesenheit benötigt.

THEOLOGIE IN EINER NACHCHRISTLICHEN ZEIT. BEISPIEL TSCHECHIEN

1. Vor 1989: Marginalisierung und Sympathien; 2. 1989-1990: Integration; 3. Nach 1990: Standardisierung und Indifferenz; 4.: Nachchristlich. - In dem ursprünglich deutsch geschriebenen Vortrag übersieht der Verfasser die letzten zwanzig Jahre der evangelischen Theologie in Tschechien, und zwar im Kontrast zu den vorangehenden vierzig Jahren der evangelischen Theologie in der kommunistischen Tschechoslowakei. Stimulierten uns die begrenzten Möglichkeiten vor der Wende zur konzentrierten Arbeit am theologischen Proprium, so brachte die Standard-Situation unserer Theologischen Existenz nach der Wende eine „Unerträgliche Leichtigkeit des Seins“ mit sich. Es galt, die uns aufgedrungene eschatologisehe Lebens- und Denkensweise in die von uns freiwillig gewählte eschatologisehe Existenz umzuwandeln, und zwar im Kontext eines nach wie vor massenverbreiteten Atheismus und Antiklerikalismus der tschechischen Gesellschaft. Neben den grundsätzlichen systematisch-theologischen und geschichts-theologischen Betrachtungen bekommt der Leser /die Leserin einen Einblick in die Arbeit der jüngeren und teilweise auch der jüngsten theologischen Generation in der Evangelisch-Theologischen Fakultät der Karlsuniversität zu Prag.

Abstrakt:

THE RELATIONSHIP OF THEOLOGY AND PHILOSOPHY IN THE 20TH CENTURY

The study suggests a trajectory of the basic stages of the ongoing Czech Protestant debate on the relationship of theology and philosophy in the 20th century and today. After the stage of a search for a common metaphysical foundation or criterion influenced by T. G. Masaryk (the attempts of J. L. Hromádka, E. Rádl and partly J. B. Souček) sets in the emphasis of K. Barth on the particularity and normativeness of the gospel and on the fundamental distinction of the presuppositions and methodology of both disciplines (Souček, J. M. Lochman). This is in a significant branch of the next generation replaced by speaking of “nonobjectifying” way of thinking (L. Hejdánek, J. S. Trojan). The survey “supplemented by some other views (E. Kohák, Z. Kučera)” shows that the question of the relationship of theology and philosophy is connected with the question of one’s own understanding of the essence and the task of either discipline.

Abstrakt:

DEATH OF GOD - DEATH OF DEATH. HEGEL’S SPECULATIVE CHRISTOLOGY

The study proposes an interpretation of Hegel’s thesis about the death of God in the context of religious epistemology. Hegel’s thesis has two interconnected meanings: metaphorical andchristological. Hegel uses it metaphorically to describe the consequence whereto leads the position of rationalist theology, that denies the possibility of the knowledge of God. Then he uses it also literally, when he argues, that the death of God, as well as the „death of death“, are necessary conditions for the knowledge of God. Hegel develops his speculative christology to detect both of these conditions. His own position within religious epistemology is to be described as an epistemological realism. Accordingly, God is not reducible to the content of religious consciousness. Nevertheless, he is knowable, namely under condition that he lets him self to know to the finite consciousness in the person of Jesus Christ.
